80th Story: The DOME of Jakarta
Peek a boo, lookie..lookie whats behind
Two days of a holyday, I take this day to take a photo shoot @The DPR/MPR Building. I don’t know why this dome amazes me so much. What I love most is the fountain (sorry I don’t take the pic *sad). Still there is so much spot that I haven’t take, hopefully next time...^_^
If U all don't know what is "The Dome" i mean, here is a bit explanation...
The DPR/MPR Building is the seat of government for the Indonesian legislative, which comprises the People's Consultative Assembly (Indonesian: Majelis Permusyaratan Rakyat, MPR) the People's Representative Council (Indonesian: Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat, DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (Indonesian: Dewan Perwakilan Daerah, DPD). Sukarno, the first president of Indonesia ordered construction of the building on 8 March 1965 His intent was for it to house the Conference of New Emerging Forces (CONEFO), a rival to the United Nations for Non-Aligned Movement countries. The first conference was scheduled for 1966, and the building was scheduled for completion before 17 August 1966, leaving 17 months for construction. Construction began in March 1965 following a contest for the design. The project was stopped because due to the coup attempt of 30 September 1966. It resumed in 1966, but with the intention to use the building for the legislature. The main building was completed in March 1968. (Wikipedia)
When i take all this pic its 5 O'clock PM nearly 6 that day. Yeah I know its just bit late to take shot, so here is a lil snap from The DPR/MPR Building, enjoy...
79th Story : Just Like a Tattoo
@Kota Tua, Disposable gloves are used in modern tattooing for hygiene. Modern tattoo machine in use. But I don't know its hygiene or not...
A Tattoo is made by inserting indelible ink into the dermis layer of the skin to change the pigment. Tattoos on humans are a type of body modification, and tattoos on other animals are most commonly used for identification purposes. The first written reference to the word, "tattoo" (or Samoan "Tatau") appears in the journal of Joseph Banks, the naturalist aboard Captain Cook's ship the HMS Endeavour in 1769: "I shall now mention the way they mark themselves indelibly, each of them is so marked by their humor or disposition".
Many tattoos serve as rites of passage, marks of status and rank, symbols of religious and spiritual devotion, decorations for bravery, sexual lures and marks of fertility, pledges of love, punishment, amulets and talismans, protection, and as the marks of outcasts, slaves and convicts.(Wikipedia)
A Temporary Tattoo Applied, i still don't know its hygiene or not T_T
Today, people choose to be tattooed for cosmetic, sentimental/memorial, religious, and magical reasons, and to symbolize their belonging to or identification with particular groups, including criminal gangs (see criminal tattoos) but also a particular ethnic group or law-abiding subculture. Some Māori still choose to wear intricate moko on their faces. In Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand, the yantra tattoo is used for protection against evil and to increase luck.
So that all my post today, hope you will enjoy the pict, and C U with another story of mine...

78th Story: Ayodya Park with WPAP
Ayodya park, is a public park at Barito Street, South Jakarta, near the Plaza Blok M and Blok M Square. Here was a Flower market, pet and fish vendors before its torn down. It said that this park named by Rusdi Iman Sujono, a 93 year old military veteran, and a native of Solo, Central Java Province, who has lived on Jalan Barito, South Jakarta, since 1956. Ayodya is from the puppet plays; it means a park in heaven.
This park cost Rp 2.1 billion ($176,400) to construct, covers 7,500 square meters with a 1,500-square-meter lake at its center. The city government hopes the park will act as a useful area for the local community as well as help the environment by absorbing rainwater. It will be equipped with a Wi-Fi Internet hot spot, allowing visitors to browse the Internet for free.
With the opening of Ayodya Park, the number of parks in South Jakarta now stands at 300, covering a total ground area of 480,563 square meters. Pet vendors, mostly selling fish and exotic birds, some of who had been at the location for about 30 years and strongly opposed the idea of renovating the area even though the land belonged to the government, previously occupied part of the land illegally. But This Time Ayodya Park there is an event held, Biennale Jakarta XIV (4 December 2011 – 14 January 2012) with the Maximum City theme. It present an art works ala Mr. Wedha Abdul Rasyid, ex illustrator from Hai magz, named WPAP (Wedha Pop Art Portrait) with 50 WPAP artist participate. Several of this artwork presents local heroes such as a street singer, street vendor, a pet seller at barito. But there is a famous face too, such as Ray Shetapy, Sudjiwo Tedjo, Alex Komang, and teguh Esha. What I heard is every artwork here is had curetted by Wedha him self.
This Jakarta Biennale is so special because as works of art that not only will be on display in the galleries just like an art exhibition, but will be deployed in various public spaces such as Bunderan HI, Menteng Park, Garden Ayodhya, Underpass Grogol, office police posts along Jl. Thamrin, monorail poles stakes, up to Central Park shopping center in the area of West Jakarta. (Source Jakarta Biennale)
